Using fMRI-guided TMS with the NeuralNavigator (TM), Sharika could influence how sequences of eye movements are planned ahead by our brain. Normally the brain areas around the supplementary motor area (SMA) carefully take into account current context and past events in planning our actions. Sharika et al could disrupt AND restore this ability by stimulating a small brain region in between our cortical hemispheres near SMA: the supplementary eye fields (SEF).
